Metric Century Bicycle Rally

The 100 kilometer (63 mi.); 65 Kilometer (40 mi.); and 35 Kilometer (22 mi.) course is pedaled over paved roads in this beautiful and scenic North Texas area. It is a fast and challenging course. Be prepared for some long and steep climbs up rolling hills and the exhilaration you'll experience coming down! (For PDF map of route, click here.)

 

ENTRY FEES: All entries postmarked by April 19, 2020, will be $35 per rider. All entries postmarked after April 20, 2020 and those who register the day of the ride will be $40 per rider. Registration is at the Sacred Heart Community Center, located on Main Street, 6 blocks north of Hwy. 82. Packets and T-Shirts can be picked up at the Community Center between 7:30 am and 9:30 am the day of the ride. T-shirts must be picked up the day of the ride. T-shirts will be presented to the first 1500 registered entries.  Registration Fee is Non-Refundable.

 

 

PRE-REGISTRATION AND PACKET PICK-UP: From Thurs. April 16 thru Thurs. April 23 at Richardson Bike Mart, in Richardson. Packets and T-Shirts can be picked up at the Community Center between 7:30 am and 9:30 am the day of the ride. T-shirts will be presented to the first 1500 registered entries.  Each Rider will receive 1 FREE pass to the Germanfest grounds the day of the rally and 2 FREE tickets for beer or sodas.

 

RULES: By law, and for your safety and protection, you MUST abide by all traffic laws throughout the ride. For your safety, helmets are expected to be worn. All riders under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

 

REST STOPS/SAG WAGONS: Rest stops will be placed approximately 10-15 miles apart. Water, fruit and other liquids will be available. Medical aid will be provided along the route and at the finish. In addition, the route passes through areas where food and drink may be purchased. If at any point, our medical personnel determines that you should not continue, you will be detained and/or returned to the start by a sag wagon.

 

MEDICAL FACILITIES: The Muenster Memorial Hospital and local doctors and nurses will be available to assist with any complications. Emergency ambulance service and qualified paramedics will also be available.

 

WEATHER: Late April weather in North Central Texas is variable. Usually the temperature will average 72 degrees at mid-afternoon. Riders are cautioned to "plan your ride" considering temperature and humidity and then be careful to "ride your plan".

 

RAIN OR SHINE: There will be a ride and there will be no refunds. Rally begins at 10am!  The Germanfest Bicycle Rally staff will not be responsible for mailing Rally T-shirts to cyclist who fail to ride.

 

 

 

Germanfest Fun Run

Sunday, April 26, 2020- 12:00 Noon

EVENTS: The 5k and 15k courses are run over paved roads in the rolling hills north of Muenster. It is fast, scenic and challenging. (For PDF map of route, click here.)

RACE TIMING: Automated timing will be used at this event. You must wear a timing tag to be timed and eligible for awards. Age group awards will be determined by chip time.

Packet Pick Up 4/21-4/24 by 5:00PM at Lora's Flowers.

Via Mail - Send completed and signed entry blank with the $28.00 entry fee (make checks payable to "Germanfest Fun Run") to the address on the form.  Packet pickup will be the day of the race at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 403 N. Oak, Muenster, Texas.     Please Note - We will not send mailed registration forms this year!  You may print off the form from the website or register online.

RACE DAY - $35.00 on Race Day at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 3rd and Oak in Muenster from 10:30 am until start of race, (940)759-2979.

PLEASE NOTE:  Packet pickup for pre-registered runners who register online or via mail,  should pickup packets at the store they specified during registration.  This will include a t-shirt, Germanfest entry pass and drink voucher, bib number and timing tag. 

FREEBIES!: First 700 participants will receive a FREE T-Shirt - ($12 value) - (Please pre-register to get your correct size shirt), and ALL participants will receive a FREE PASS - ($6 value) into the Germanfest Grounds (Sunday Only), and TWO FREE DRINK TICKETS - ($8 value), Beer, Powerade or soft drinks - redeemable on the Germanfest Grounds (until 5pm -Sunday Only). Beer can be redeemed at Fun Run Awards Party or Jaycee beer trailer & soft drinks can be redeemed at Fun Run Awards Party or Boy Scout Troop 664 booth. The Germanfest Fun Run staff will not be responsible for mailing T-shirts to runners who fail to run or pick up their shirts on race day. 

AWARDS CEREMONY: There are sixteen age divisions for both male and female. Each will be presented a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place award. Overall awards will also be presented to the Overall winners and Overall Master's winners (age 40+) along with a 1st place TEAM COMPETITION IN 5k & 15k. Winners will be announced and awards presented beginning at 2:30pm at the reserved area on the Germanfest Grounds. YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO RECEIVE AWARDS - AWARDS WILL NOT BE MAILED. (See last years results and age divisions on the website!) 

AFTER THE RACE: Runners are given a pass to the Germanfest grounds, where they can participate in all Germanfest activities, and each runner will receive two FREE Tickets for beer, Powerade or soft drinks.

PROCEEDS: Any profits from the races are channeled through the Muenster Knights of Columbus to various charitable organizations in Cooke County.
